vCard Card Viewer by vCard
Allows Firefox to open .vcf contact files as a contact card in the browser instead of downloading them. The card is read and shown inside your browser; nothing is collected or sent anywhere else.

About this extension
With vCard, see .vcf contact cards immediately on your Firefox browser window.
NOTE: Why vCard asks to access all websites
Contact files can come from any site. To catch them, the add-on checks only the file type of each page you open and steps in only when it's a contact file. It never reads page content, never sends anything anywhere, and keeps nothing. Feel free to inspect the code: see the last section.
How it works
Click a .vcf link (the "Add to contacts" button on websites, digital business cards, event pages) and vCard Card Viewer opens it as a clean contact card, right in the tab: photo, name, title, company, phones, emails, websites and addresses, laid out like the contacts app on your phone.
Your data stays yours
What you can do from the card
Handles the contact files out there
vCard 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0, embedded photos, Apple contact labels, accents, emoji, and several contacts in one file. Light and dark mode.
Feel free to inspect the code
Nothing is hidden: about 680 lines of plain, unminified JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with no outside libraries. The add-on file (.xpi) is an ordinary zip archive: download it from this page's version history, rename it to .zip and open it to read every line. Licensed under GPL v3: anyone may reuse it, but every copy must stay open source under the same license.

Your data stays yours
- No tracking, no analytics, no ads, no accounts.
- Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. The only network request is to the site you clicked, to load that contact file.
- The card is read and drawn inside your browser. Photos come only from inside the file; remote image links are never loaded.
- Nothing is stored: no history, no copies of your contacts.
What you can do from the card
- Call, text, email or map any detail with one click
- Download the original .vcf when you do want to save it
- View the raw file
- Open one link the normal way when you want the plain download
- Drop a .vcf from your computer onto the viewer (toolbar button)
