Ant Video Downloader by ANT

by jagman, 7 years agoWHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE BEST VIDEO DOWNLOAD ADD-ON? Firefox version 60 and ANT is TERRIBLE. Before, you "played" a video, the ANT icon "moved" telling you it found it, was ready to download, it gave you several size/resolution options and you choose one and wallah, it appeared in the DOWNLOAD WINDOW. By using PREFERENCE YOU COULD change the DOWNLOAD location and do this in seconds.
The new one in version is CLUTTERED, NO preference option I could find, no LOCATION OPTION, pages of "stuff", WILL NOT ALLOW TO DOWN LOAD MORE THAN ONE COPY, let alone more than one SIZE for one to check download difference in resolutions to see which to keep, deciding on resolution versus size of file....
I have fooled with it for an hour and STILL can not get the hang of this TERRIBLE, UNNEEDED COMPLICATED MODIFICATION. BAD, BAD, BAD, you really screwed it up this time. THANKS for nothing.

posted 7 years agoWe are continuing to work on migration AVD to a new platform and returning the habitual appearance, new design will be improved in the next major release.
Current AVD still have option for changing location at the AVD tab under the Downloads section as far as option to select all detected video resolutions.
Please contact with more details about your problem to our support at support@ant.com

"Sorry to announce but Ant Video downloader is discontinued and will no longer be updated. Support is closed." - Rated 1 out of 5by Ebacci, 13 days agoIt requires you to install a shady desktop program for it to work. What's the point of installing a web extension then...

I see that in both apps, the video is downloaded in segments, but in the latter the contrast between audio and video is very noticeable. On the other hand, in this one it gives a better result, but even so there is a small cut in the image at certain moments of the video. I have downloaded a 20-minute video in both apps, this one has a better performance but visualizing the result, I still think it needs to be fine-tuned a bit more.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Adamant777, 3 months agoIt works but a step by step tutorial on how to use it is completely needed. Even on the Ant Video Downloader official website they can do a good tutorial (a detailed one) they should do one.
How to use it?: You have to use Firefox (won't work on Librewolf), install the AVD native app on windows and then install the addon Ant Video Downloader on Firefox. Then go to settings of the addon and allow sending data to the native app cookies on privacy settings. After all that, open or refresh the website with the video and now you can find the video info in the addon icon, select the resolution and download it. - Rated 1 out of 5by Kunta Kinte, 3 months ago
