I mostly acquired this extension with the obvious idea that I would be able to download videos with it. When I went to the #1 video site on the entire internet and attempted to download a video, I was told that it couldn't download it, because it was somehow special, however, they could sell me a product that could. This makes it more of an opt-in advertisement extension than an actual add-on, not to mention the anti-competitive nature of such 'advertising'. Garbage.

Funktioniert nicht. Drei Videos probiere ich aus, jedesmal haißt es, ausgerechnet dieses Video könnte nicht geladen werden. Einfach Murks. Andere Loader können es doch auch, die haben aber Wasserzeichen.

Creators told some about downloading ANY video from websites. Thats only advertising trick. Nonfunction for HLS download. No recognize HLS stream videos. Bye...

The YouTube website contains only an incomplete video adress, so the video can be downloaded only by Youtube itself or by a special program.
Video Downloader Ultimate for Microsoft Windows is such a program and you can find it here. Update: 2025 on a Mac and it STILL doesn't work.

Stops working.

It doesn't do anything.

It worked fine for a while. Then, after downloading the wrong videos from youtube, it stopped working completely. Now, all I get when I click on the icon is an ad for Video Downloader Ultimate.

Paying extra-fees for a web site like Youtube that's offering free videos from people who also make them for free, is simply unacceptable. If this is some "backdoor royalty" for Youtube, then it should be brought to some legal debate since the revenues aren't shared with the actual content producers ... Else (since I don't believe it'd be such "backdoor royalty"), then it's essentially unethical opportunism - not to say thievery - while trying to make money over the popularity of a FREE web site and its content providers.
