Video Sieve — Direct Video Downloader by Colin Knapp

Video Sieve does one job quietly: it finds direct video files exposed by the current top-level page and lets you choose one to save through Firefox.

Open the toolbar popup to see direct HTTP(S) sources from the page's video elements and structured player source attributes. Each available choice shows its format, source domain, dimensions, and duration when the page provides them. Press Save video…, approve Firefox's optional download permission if prompted, and choose where to save the file.

Video Sieve is intentionally limited. It does not bypass DRM, capture blob or Media Source streams, assemble HLS or DASH segments, inspect cross-origin frames, or promise support for every streaming site. Use it only for media you own or are authorized to download.

Discovery stays inside Firefox. Video Sieve has no accounts, telemetry, analytics, tracking, remote code, background scanning, or publisher service. The selected file is requested directly by Firefox from its existing host and is never sent to ColinKnapp.com.
