VOEC Companion by Gavekuratoren AS

Shopping from a foreign online shop? VOEC Companion shows whether the shop is in the Norwegian Tax Administration's VOEC register.

Shops in the VOEC scheme should include Norwegian VAT in the checkout price for most items under NOK 3,000. You should then not pay VAT again when the parcel arrives. If the shop is not in the register, you may get a bill for VAT, any customs duty and a carrier fee on delivery.

How it works

Open the extension while you are on the shop's site. You get one of three answers:

• VOEC registered: the shop is in the register, with the name it is registered under.
• Not found in the VOEC register: we did not find the shop. It may still be registered under another name or address. The extension tells you what to check at checkout.
• Data not available: we cannot answer right now. You get a link to search the register yourself.

The answer shows when the register was last fetched. The register may have changed since, so check the total price at checkout before you pay.

Privacy

The extension sends only the shop's domain (for example shop.example) to our service, and only when you open it. It does not read the pages you visit, and it needs no account. Answers and settings are stored on your device. More at voec.gavekuratoren.no/personvern
