About this extension
WaitAIMinute adds a moment of deliberate friction to AI chat tools, so you decide when to reach for AI instead of doing it on autopilot.
Reminder banners: a nudge above the composer ("Wait a minute, could you solve this yourself first?") to encourage thinking before prompting.
Breath pauses: every few prompts, a brief overlay with a grounding cue: "Inhale for 4. Exhale for 6." or "Look at something more than 20 feet away."
Daily limits : set a target of 1–40 prompts per day, and optionally block yourself once you reach it.
Sensitive info warnings: checks what you're about to send for number of patterns, including API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, Google, GitHub, Stripe, Slack, Twilio and more), private keys, JWTs, connection strings, credit cards, bank and routing numbers, IBANs, SSNs, passport numbers, emails and phone numbers, so you get a warning before pasting a secret into a chatbot.
Usage stats: a daily count in the popup so you can see your own patterns.
Every feature can be turned off individually in the popup.
Works on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek and Microsoft
Copilot.
Everything runs locally. The extension makes no network requests and requires
no account. Its only permission is "storage", used to keep your settings and
counts in your own browser.
