(replying to Simounet, below) Thanks for the fast reply! (I can't figure out how to 'reply' to 'replies' so doing it here....)
I'm using Firefox 61.0.2 and Chromium 59.0.3071.109 on Ubuntu 16.10
I installed Wallabag on subdomain my shared hosting server via a one-click installer, and after fussing with the url (it wanted https://mysubdomain.com/web/ and not just https://mysudomain.com even though it is installed in root directory) IT WORKED. And it works great! Five stars for this and fast replies.
One suggestion: It would be great to mention somewhere really obvious on the wallabag site that these one-click installers for wallabag exist for shared hosting set-ups... It didn't even occur to me until I stumbled across a mention on a random blog-post... the instructions here: https://doc.wallabag.org/en/admin/installation/installation.html#on-shared-hosting
they are pretty crytpic....
thanks! recommend this, but be prepared for some fussiness maybe

Hi! Just getting started with Wallabagger and Wallabag today... really love it... in theory... :)
I can get Android Wallabagger to sync my (trial) account app.wallabag.it no problem, this is great.
I _can't_ get Firefox or Chromium Wallabagger extension to sync at all... I press 'check URL' and nothing happens; nothing in the console or anything. I tried disabling all extensions, fresh install of Chromium etc. (tips gleaned from various forums) and still nothing.
However, when I test connect to Framabag.org, it works! (I don't have a key, so it just shows me Chuck Norris etc.) Also, the bookmarklet works fine, but would be really interested in being able to tag etc.
Anyone else having this problem? Any tips? Fully, fully ready to 5 star this if I can get it to work...
Apologies for cross-posting.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Wesley Branton, 4 months ago

posted 4 months agoHi there, Firefox for Android changed the way we have to make it works. It's working as expected on Firefox Desktop. One star for an extension you didn't use is kind of rough though. - Rated 5 out of 5by Kelson, 5 months agoSimilar to Pocket, but you can (optionally) host your own server. Less polished, but it does the job, making it easy to save the current page to read later, with optional tagging in the save dialog.
And it can save the content from the page you're viewing now, which is helpful for sites with login walls.
Setup is a bit clunky, but you only need to do it once. - Rated 5 out of 5by Patreos, 7 months ago

As a [feature request], I would gladly have a darker theme (optional ?) for the popup used to add a page.Developer response
posted 10 months agoThanks a lot for your feedback. I created an issue for this feature request: https://github.com/wallabag/wallabagger/issues/409 - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13875318, a year ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by aguazales, 2 years agoI have the same issue as another reviewer. The addon installs and tries to check the URL I typed in, but "Wallabag URL checked" remains at "Not checked" although "Wallabag permission checked" changes to "Agreed."
Clicking the toolbar button throws an error, "api.GetTags().then is not a function."
Wallabag itself is working fine. I'm using a self-hosted Wallabag instance - Wallabag is hosted on my NAS which is on the same LAN as the machine running Firefox and the addon. I can access the Wallabag instance from my laptop and save articles with it, but the addon stops at the "Wallabag permission checked" step like described above, unfortunately :/ - Rated 4 out of 5by don_dolarson, 2 years agoSo far works good, LibreWolf 116.0.2-1. Let's see how it behaves in long term. Registered, created API token, pasted everything needed in the extension and voila. Setup took less than 5 minutes. Easy peasy even for a noob.
The instruction in extension description is more than enough for setting it up using the wallabang instance. Developer response
posted 3 years agoAre you using a self-hosted instance or wallabag.it? Is it quicker directly through the interface?
Have a nice day.- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16314216, 3 years agoReview after developer response:
The url provided in the developer's response fixed my issue, but this addon is still far, far too complex to set up for the average user.
Previous review:
These instructions don't make any sense if you're a paid subscriber. The firefox addon asks for a url, and none is provided in the instructions. I tried https://app.wallabag.it/ (since I'm a paid subscriber) and the options page still says 'url not checked' so I can't get this thing to work.Developer response
posted 3 years agoHi there, sorry about that. You can fill in the URL with `app.wallabag.it` then click on the test button and authorize the access of this URL. Do you have any installed extension? Can you try it on a fresh Firefox profile? - Rated 1 out of 5by AndrewKantor, 3 years agoCan't get it to work with Firefox 107. It tries to check the URL (which is correct) but "Wallabag URL checked" remains at "Not checked" although "Wallabag permission checked" changes to "Agreed."
Clicking the toolbar button throws an error, "api.GetTags().then is not a function."
Meanwhile, Wallabag itself is working fine, so I don't think the problem is there.Developer response
posted 3 years agoHi Andrew, I'm really sorry to ear that. Can you tell me what happen when you click on the "Test URL" button? Did you try to remove the extension and install it again? Are you using wallabag.it or a self-hosted instance?

posted 3 years agoThanks a lot for this nice comment! Glad you like this extension. Have a nice day.- Rated 5 out of 5by Biapy, 3 years agoWallabagger is a great extension that help making the most of a Wallabag instance. Once the initial setup done (which needs Wallabag login & password plus an API client ID & secret Key from your Wallabag instance), the extension works seamlessly.
Wallabagger has a great UI, and is very easy to use. A must have for all Wallabag users.Developer response
