- Rated 5 out of 5by Nikita, 2 years agoLove the add-on, but I recommend few QOL changes after testing it for a day or two, to avoid annoying new users:
1) By default, only these Conditions should be enabled:
- Mark a video as watched once it appears in the browser's history.
- Mark a video as watched once it has the official Youtube watched badge.
- Mark a video as watched once it appears in Youtube's watch history.
1) By default, only this Visualization should be enabled:
- Mark watched videos by slightly fading the thumbnail out.
- Show a textual badge in addition to graying out watched videos.
=====
I recommend this because I was REALLY annoyed that just opening a video by default marked is at "Watched". I'd rather the video actually watched, is labeled watched, because opening a video to watch it later in a tab marks it as "watched" (maybe add option to delay "Watch" status after a video is opened?).
So that means, with default visualizations options on, suddenly all videos I opened in a tab and didn't watch instantly, show up with grayscale, no YouTube bar, "WATCHED" label on the channel. So now I have no idea which video I actually watched (YouTube bar is a must ON to track this) because every thumbnails is generic looking grayscale. Faded thumbnails work better by default than grayscale (though option to "desaturate" thumbnails a bit would help too)
TBH, I admit, I did not check options initially because there are so many extensions running that the small blue icon didn't even show up on Toolbar for me, it went into overflow. There was no "Options" option when I checked the addon in "Addon & Themes" panel, so I assumed there were no options for this addon, and browsed away oblivious to the fact that there were definitely options.
I hope that is fixed too. Options should be accessible from Addon and Themes section as well when checking extension.
PS: Still a very useful extension. Turning off these extra options made it actually more useful to me than when everything was checked by default. - Rated 5 out of 5by Zer0, 2 years agoIt works, also has Import/export feature which seem like a great idea.

posted 3 years agoShould work again in the newest version that I just released. In the future, please kindly report such issues on Github [1] instead of leaving a negative review - thanks!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Kanso, 4 years agoStill works after Youtube removed Watched indicators from recommendations in the sidebar of video pages. I was able to add my history by scrolling through my watch history, but it will pick up watched videos from your sub box and elsewhere. Thanks for restoring useful functionality that Youtube saw fit to remove.

- Rated 5 out of 5by kettlefishseabread, 4 years agoGreat addition to YouTube, adds functionality that YouTube intentionally missed, small feature request - auto hide watched if you mark them to be permanently hidden. In any-case thank you for the work chap!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Chitrak, 4 years agoThanks, i was really looking for something like this, could you add a toggle or something for not seeing watched videos..or maybe rearranging the rest of the thumbnails would be too much. Maybe replace the empty watched video thumbnails with subscription new videos or something. lol i dont know how that would even work..
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12124788, 4 years agoBeen using this addon for years and it has worked great. I've got about 25,000 watched videos in my YouTube Watchmakers database. That is so much more than the 5,000 maximum that YouTube will remember. It would be great if it would add YouTube videos that are watched on other sites like Bing, Just mentioning it, Thanks for the great extension!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Black🏴☠️Sails, 5 years agoCertainly my fav add-on for YouTube.
Unfortunately 2-3 weeks now, this add-on has begun to bug and cause incredible amounts of lag on Firefox, and I always end up typing "about:performance" in URL bar only to once again see this add-on going sky high on 'energy impact'.
And it wont stop unless I disable this add-on... And if I enable it, a few minutes or hours later, the same thing will happen again.
So yeah, this is definitely a must-fix.
edit: Is it possible that this add-on is not compatible with some other add-on or script? Maybe, cuz I have 36 enabled add-ons and 41 or so scripts installed in Violentmonkey.
But still, I honestly doubt it has anything todo with the add-ons, bcs basically nothing has changed in the past 2 months. (small changes)
The only thing that's changed is that I added all these java scripts. But I still highly doubt it has todo with that, simply because this bug begins to happen out of the blue on it's own, while I'm NOT on youtube. (but I do* have youtube videos open in new tabs, so I'm not sure)
So far, it has happened while I was browsing sites other than YouTube.
lmk if you need more info. Maybe you changed something recently? Maybe it was bcs of Firefox update? Really hard to say.Developer response

posted 5 years agoThank you for the kind words! I haven't gotten any reports about the extension not working recently. Would you mind creating an issue in Github [1] such that I can investigate this further? Thanks!
