The We Watch browser extension is an alternative way to access the We Watch service directly from your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). The extension allows you to log in, mark movies and episodes as watched, rate content, write reviews, and manage your watchlist.

To authenticate, the extension collects your login credentials (username/email and password), which are transmitted securely to our servers. Upon successful authentication, a session token is stored locally in your browser's storage (chrome.storage.local) and remains exclusively on your device.

Activity data submitted through the extension — such as marking content as watched, ratings, written reviews, and watchlist management — is transmitted to and processed by We Watch servers in the same manner as data submitted through the website. The extension requires only the 'storage' permission to persist your session.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (performance of a contract).
