   Your privacy is extremely important to us. Web2MD Exporter is designed with a strict Privacy-First Architecture. The extension operates 100% locally inside your web browser. We do not collect, track, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data, web browsing history, or page content to external servers.

3. Web Page Content & Text Selection: When you trigger the extension popup or use the multi-tab batch exporter, the extension parses the active webpage HTML or highlighted text and converts it into Markdown (.md) format locally. No webpage content or extracted text ever leaves your computer.
4. Settings & Preferences: Your extension preferences (such as YAML frontmatter toggles and image settings) are stored locally using browser.storage.local on your device only.
5. Explanation of Permissions
6. activeTab & scripting: Used strictly to inspect and extract HTML DOM content from the active tab when triggered by the user.
7. tabs: Used exclusively by the Multi-Tab Batch Exporter to query open tabs when the user explicitly clicks "Merge & Export (.md)".
8. storage: Used to save your extension settings locally on your computer.
9. downloads: Used to trigger the browser download manager when saving the generated Markdown file.
10. <all_urls>: Allows the local content parser to run on any website or public Notion page that you choose to convert.

12. No Analytics: We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking scripts.
13. No Remote Code Execution: All JavaScript libraries are pre-bundled inside the extension package.
14. No Third-Party Data Sales: We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer user data to third parties.
15. Security
    Because no user data is ever sent to or stored on external servers, all transient data (such as extracted text shown in the popup editor) is cleared automatically when the extension popup is closed.
