About this extension
WebSec FileScanner is a powerful browser extension designed to aid web security enthusiasts and professionals in identifying potentially exposed files on websites. This tool automates the scanning process to detect common files such as .env, .git/config, and wls-wsat/CoordinatorPortType, which, if exposed, might pose security risks.
Key Features:
Automated Scanning: Once activated, the tool automatically scans any domain you visit for specific file patterns, ensuring that you don’t miss potential vulnerabilities.
New Path Detection: Even if you’ve previously visited a domain, WebSec FileScanner stays vigilant. When you visit a new path on an already-scanned domain, it checks for the presence of sensitive files within that path.
User-Friendly UI: View scan results easily through a clean and intuitive interface. Detected URLs are clickable, letting you inspect any findings with just one click.
Notification Alerts: Stay informed with real-time notifications whenever a potential exposure is detected.
Data Privacy: Your browsing data remains yours. WebSec FileScanner doesn’t store or transmit your browsing history, ensuring that your privacy is maintained.

New Features:
Persistent Storage: With the introduction of the browser.storage.local API, scan results are now persistently stored. This ensures that users will not lose their scan data even after closing and reopening the browser.
Clear All Data: A "Clear Results" feature has been added to the UI, enabling users to easily delete all saved scan data, both in-memory and locally stored.
Enhanced Reliability: The checked paths mechanism has been improved to avoid redundant scans, further optimizing performance.
Bug Fixes:
Addressed an issue where certain paths might get scanned repeatedly during a session.
Miscellaneous under-the-hood optimizations for a smoother user experience.
