Privacy policy for Wharfly: Snippetly
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Wharfly: Snippetly is published by Wharfly. This policy explains what the extension handles and why.
Snippets can contain personal text, so they stay in local Chrome storage. Snippetly does not sync, upload, or analyze them.
- Personal communications — snippets, notes, priorities, or task names typed by the user; stored locally only.
- Website content — page text, links, selected text, or JSON that the user explicitly asks the extension to process; processed in the browser and not retained unless the feature says so.
- Authentication information — an optional Gumroad Pro license key, sent only to Gumroad for verification when the user activates Pro.
All feature data is stored in
chrome.storage.local on the user's device. Wharfly does not operate a server that receives this data, does not sell it, and does not use it for advertising, profiling, or creditworthiness. The extension makes a network request only when the user chooses to activate or revalidate a Pro license. That request goes to
https://api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify and contains the license key, an optional product identifier, and increment_uses_count=false. Gumroad processes the request under its own privacy policy. The extension does not send page content, browsing history, notes, snippets, screenshots, or settings to Gumroad.Wharfly does not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose.
Feature data remains in Chrome local storage until the user deletes it in the extension or uninstalls the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage. A Pro license can be removed from the extension's Pro dialog.
The extension requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose. Permission descriptions are provided in the Chrome Web Store listing.
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes materially, the updated policy will be posted at this URL with a new date and, where required, disclosed in the extension before the change takes effect.
