Privacy policy — Where to Go, by PickOH
Last updated: 30 September 2026

Where to Go is a Firefox add-on that shows which countries PickOH ranks as the best to visit in a month you choose, with historical monthly climate averages. This policy explains exactly what it does with data.

WHAT THE ADD-ON DOES NOT DO
• It does not collect, store or send any personal information.
• It has no account and never uses your PickOH login: requests are sent without cookies.
• It has no analytics, tracking, advertising or fingerprinting.
• It cannot read or change the websites you visit. It has no content scripts and doesn't inject anything into pages.
• It never opens tabs, redirects you or shows notifications on its own.

WHAT IT SENDS, AND TO WHOM
When you open the popup or pick a month that isn't already saved, the add-on asks PickOH for that month's public rankings:
GET https://api.pickoh.com/api/community/where-to-go/<month number 1–12>
The request contains only the month number. As with any web request, PickOH's servers see your IP address and your browser's standard request headers. The add-on adds nothing else. PickOH's own privacy policy covers how pickoh.com handles those requests.

WHAT IT STORES ON YOUR DEVICE
Using Firefox's extension storage (storage.local), which stays on your device:
• Monthly rankings you've viewed, one entry per month, with the time they were received. This makes the popup open instantly and lets you see those months offline. Saved months are refreshed from PickOH after 12 hours.
• Your °C/°F choice, if you change it.
Nothing is synced to other devices. Removing the add-on deletes all of it.

LINKS TO PICKOH
Links in the popup open PickOH pages in a new tab, but only when you click them. These links carry visible campaign tags (utm_source=firefox-extension&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=where-to-go) so PickOH can tell the visit came from the add-on. Once a PickOH page is open, pickoh.com's own privacy policy applies.

PERMISSIONS
• Storage: saves the months you've viewed (for speed and offline use) and your unit choice, on your device only.
• Access your data for api.pickoh.com: fetches PickOH's public monthly rankings. The add-on only reads that one public endpoint and has no access to any other site.
