Wordshift is private by design. It collects no personal data, browsing data, page content, rules, settings, or usage data, and it sends no data anywhere.

Wordshift has no account system, analytics, telemetry, advertising, cloud service, or remote server. It makes no network requests.

Saved rules and settings are stored only in Firefox local extension storage on the user's device. Quick changes are stored only in Firefox session storage for their tab and are removed when the tab closes.

Site access is used only to read and replace visible text locally on pages the user chooses. Import and export only read and write local JSON files; nothing is uploaded.
