Tried most of the download managers to replace Video DownloadHelper which in my opinion now sucks.
I installed XDM and using this add-on with XDM is the only downloader that worked on the test sites I used.
The others may just have a problem working well with Linux Mint.
There’s also a small learning curve.
It will download to folder of choice, even if the folder isn’t on the home drive.
On small issue is the naming of the links, it doesn’t pick up the individual series/episode names.
That said, you can view a running download see if you have chosen the correct link.
You can also edit /rename the download.
All in all, regardless of the issues, I’ve found this to be an ideal alternative to Video DownloadHelper.
What doesn't help is that you won't find it by looking for downloading add-ons. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18238438, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by DerpDerpington, a year agoLove this extension but it has not been updated in quite a while and theirs no way to hide the little floating "Download video" thing that pops up. It gets in the way quite a lot and it will keep popping up even after closing it. PLEASE fix this issue. Possible solution is to only have it pop up if clicking on the extension itself? Or have it as an option inside the extension settings area?
