About this extension
Download Chrome Extension Here: https://x3n.dk/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/youtube-mono-to-stereo-CHROME-FIXED.zip (Will be added to chrome webstore at some point)
YouTube Mono to Stereo automatically detects when a YouTube video has mono audio (sound only in one ear) and offers to convert it to stereo so you hear it in both ears.
Features:
Automatic mono audio detection on YouTube videos and Shorts
In-video popup notification when mono audio is detected
One-click conversion to stereo
Optional auto-convert mode (enable once, never think about it again)
Works on both regular YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts
No data collection - completely private
How it works:
When you play a YouTube video with mono audio, a small notification appears in the video player asking if you want to convert to stereo. Click "Convert to Stereo" and the audio is instantly fixed. You can also enable auto-convert in settings to automatically fix all mono videos without asking.
Why you need this:
Many older videos, podcasts, and recordings on YouTube have mono audio, which sounds broken when using headphones - you only hear sound in one ear. This extension fixes that problem automatically.
Privacy:
This extension does not collect, transmit, or store any data. All audio processing happens locally in your browser.
