posted 7 years agoWorks for me. When I visit YouTube and click on a video, it does not play automatically. When I click on the play button, it plays again.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14870653, 6 years agoI made an account here just to write this review. I'm very happy this add-on exists and I haven't found another one which stops YouTube from autoplaying playlists. Thank you very much!
The only point to improve is that it doesn't work if the video is in fullscreen, but that's a minor inconvenience. - Rated 1 out of 5by Chloe Phelps, 6 years agoI'm afraid this doesn't work here. Windows 10, FF 66.0.3 64bit.
I may have misunderstood the purpose of the add-on however. What I am looking for is something that stops the next video or song playing in YT after the one one is currently listening to. This add-on doesn't do this. After I play video x I get a circle timer with an option to cancel the next one playing, so manual cancellation of the following video is still necessary. - Rated 3 out of 5by Bobby, 6 years agoDoesn't perform well enough for initial page load. There will be a brief second that the video would still play before it gets paused.
Also lack a toggle button. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13747670, 6 years agoFor God's sake, there is finally an extension that can truly stop YouTube from autoplaying. If you are on macOS Mission Control's different Spaces and Desktops, you will notice that even if you physically paused the video, YouTube will stupidly autoplay when you resume to that Desktop. Say, if you have paused two different YouTube videos on two Firefox browser windows under Desktop 1, switching to Desktop 2 and back to Desktop 1 will trigger the two videos to autoplay --- very annoying.
Tweaking about:config is not useful:
media.autoplay.enabled
media.block-autoplay-until-in-foreground
you will notice this still cannot stop the video from autoplaying when resuming to the Desktop.
However, this extension solves the problem. I can now decide when I want the video to play whenever I want it to. This is a must-have extension!
Good work!
Keep it up! - Rated 5 out of 5by Michael Chelterton, 6 years agoGreat add-on. Works fine. But recently it fails fairly often. Believe, Youtube has change something again.
"Can you share a scenario where the add-on fails?"
Ok. I use external RSS-client (QuiteRSS). I use it to receive notices from youtube chanels I subscribed to. All links form RSS-client always open in Firefox. And your add-on worked perfectly until recently. It's about week-two your add-on fails - videos start play immediately. But, when I open links on Youtube directly, there are no problems. And sometimes it fails, when I open link from bookmarks. - Rated 4 out of 5by CSDR, 7 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12531918, 7 years agoSurprisingly, an addon which weights about 10 kb and has less than 1k users works and does a function for which I've been cursing YouTube for a long time.
- Rated 5 out of 5by iEat, 7 years agoIt does what it says it does. The permissions dialog is notable, as it declares permissions for the youtube.com domain only, which is exactly the only permissions the add-on needs given its very specific function. If only other devs were this meticulous and protective of a user's experience with their add-ons. Thanks.
