Which is great, since the shorts system is awful for a large number of reasons.

So far, it did what it promised. It hide shorts from my subscription tab. That's the only thing I used this extension for.

THANK YOU! I like watching shorts on pc and without this addon, I can't lower the volume, or jump a few seconds forward/backward. Shame youtube did not think adding these features.

browsed yt shorts for like 10 seconds and it was littered with absolute shite, went immediately to this and it's a godsend!

Unpopular opinion but I don't mind YouTube shorts or the dedicated shorts player itself for mobile and tablet, but for desktop the shorts player is annoying, so this add-on does a fantastic job bypassing the shorts player and redirecting the media from the shorts back into the regular default player. I also love how you can disable the shorts tab on the home screen menu bar.
