- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15025108, 4 years agoAwesome Add-on! I'm using this one for yrs and it works tremendously. Every now and then, after some YT or OS/Browser changes it did not work for a couple days (I think the longest was about 2 weeks) but after the next update it worked fine again. The recent pathname error was fixed with Version 1.1.2 and despite some claiming it didn't work on music vids anymore it actually does work. Tested it and had no issues with any vids so far. Thus I wrote this updated review.
Update 6.12.2020:
Concerning review from Rastan / 06.12.2020
I had exactely the same experience these last 3 days. Tried installing older versions also combined with older Firefox ver. but always ended up with the same error message so far. I trust that the add-on is fixed as usual within a reasonably short time. I'll keep updating this review when it's fixed or in case the problem should persist.
Update 7.12.2020:
Addy works again. Haven't tested widely yet but a quick test showed I could dl and chose the format I wanted this morning again. Will update again if necessary. Thanks to others who update their reviews too and sometimes share tips how to circumvent a problem for the time being.
Update 8.12.2020:
Doesn't work again now. The same friggin error shows up. To the dev of this addy: I'll wait like always till you fix it, this tool is just soo effective when it works that I really have no intention to change the addy as long as problems are fixed within days. - Rated 5 out of 5by FoxMan2020, 4 years agoIssue with dloads was resolved within 2 weeks. Now working fine again. Thank you.

These download add-ons have become crucial as youtube no longer follows free speech or fair use laws. - Rated 5 out of 5by ALT, 4 years agoDec 5 2020

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15808460, 4 years agoVersion 1.1.2 doesn't work for me on any video, with or without music. Displays "Unable to retrieve video metadata." Version 0.9.4 also doesn't work for me.
Having trouble with another Firefox extension named VideoDownloadHelper also.
Both of these quit working last week after installing the latest Windows10 updates. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12652881, 4 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by -koumor1, 4 years agoi tried to install the 0.9.4 version, is not working, i do not know if i done something wrong.
edit: only works on videos random, but not in music videos - Rated 5 out of 5by zwei7, 4 years agoWhen downgrading to version 0.94 (the one that actually still works) remember to:
1. remove version 1.0.9 found in Firefox extensions:
type "about:addons" in the top address/search bar
2. download the old version 0.94
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/youtube_downloader_webx/versions/
3. disable automatic updates
Otherwise Firefox will "upgrade" it to 1.0.9 and this extension will stop working!
The 0.94 version sorta sucks since you cannot rename the files prior to downloading, only after so you mus wait if it is a huge video file. - Rated 5 out of 5by jamesliu, 4 years ago
