关于此扩展
AffinityBound helps you see who's really behind the media you're browsing: ownership among the countries covered by the extension's curated database (currently Canada, US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and expanding over time), plus funding source, editorial independence, and public-service mandate where known. On YouTube, it also identifies a curated set of Canadian creators by handle, even on a platform that isn't Canadian-owned itself.
The extension analyzes the websites and channels you visit and shows a badge/notification indicating a source's ownership -- entirely locally, with no browsing data collected or transmitted.
Featured Media's outbound links to outlets optionally include a referral tag so those outlets can see traffic came from AffinityBound; this is on by default but can be turned off at any time from the extension's settings.
A Featured Media page highlights the most and least structurally insulated outlets in the database each season, automatically rotating with no maintenance required.
It tracks media conglomerates including Postmedia Network, Sun Media, and Reuters, while highlighting independent and public alternatives like CBC, The Narwhal, and The Tyee.
With media ownership increasingly concentrated across borders, AffinityBound helps you support the journalism you actually intend to support and maintain diverse perspectives in your news diet.
