Custom regex patterns

Add your own blur rules in the popup under Custom patterns. Create, edit, delete, and toggle each pattern independently. Patterns run locally like the built-in detectors (money, email, IBAN, phone).

Regex helper: paste an example value (for example a VAT ID or internal ticket number) to generate a starting pattern you can refine.

Custom patterns apply reliably after reload and when you switch back to a tab.

Microsoft Teams — auto-protect while sharing

When you share your screen in Teams web, ShareShield can automatically turn on full blurring and restore your previous settings when sharing ends. Control this with the Auto-protect during Teams sharing toggle (on by default).

From earlier 1.0.3x releases (if upgrading from 1.0.33 or older)

Toolbar status indicator: green dot on the icon when blurring is active.

Teams meeting chats: message previews in meeting-related chat rows are blurred correctly.

Cleaner page load: no full-page blur flash when protection is off.

Outlook: optional sender-name blur; better conversation/thread detection.

Privacy

All blurring runs locally in your browser. No page content is sent to any server. Only your toggle settings and custom patterns are stored in browser storage.

Microsoft Teams (web): Optional blurring of message preview snippets in the chat list. Chat names and timestamps stay visible.
Outlook (web) — Mail: Optional blurring of email subjects and preview text in the message list.
Outlook (web) — Senders: New optional toggle to blur sender names in the mail list (off by default). Works for normal emails, conversation threads, and expanded thread messages.
Outlook (web) — Calendar: Optional blurring of calendar event titles on the calendar grid. Event times and date ranges stay visible.
