ChatGPT Markdown Exporter saves the complete conversation in your active ChatGPT tab as a clean Markdown file. It loads long chats from top to bottom, preserves common formatting, and can include attached Markdown files inline.

Features include:

• Exports the active ChatGPT conversation as a .md file
• Loads long conversations that are only partially present on the page
• Preserves headings, lists, tables, links, quotations, code blocks, inline code, images, and common mathematical notation
• Includes available message timestamps and model information
• Optionally includes user-uploaded and ChatGPT-generated .md attachments inline
• Clearly separates attached-file content from the surrounding conversation
• Shows export progress and allows an active export to be stopped
• Opens the saved file’s location directly from the extension
• Displays Firefox’s Save As dialog for every export

Exports are initiated manually and processed locally. The extension does not send exported conversations, analytics, or diagnostics to the developer or another external service.

For reliable loading of very long conversations, keep the ChatGPT tab selected and avoid interacting with it until the export finishes.
