This Privacy Policy describes how Auto Refresh Plus | Page Monitor ("the
Extension", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our
Chrome browser extension.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This extension was built with
a privacy-first approach: your data stays on your device, always.

1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

The Extension does NOT collect, transmit, store on any server, or share any
of the following:

• Your browsing history or visited URLs
• The content of web pages you visit or monitor
• Keywords or expressions you set for page monitoring
• Your personal information (name, address, phone number, etc.)
• IP address or location data
• Device identifiers or hardware information
• Tab activity, usage frequency, or session duration
• Cookies from websites you visit
• Form data or passwords
• Any behavioral or analytical data about how you use the extension

1. INFORMATION STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
   ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

All configuration and settings data is stored exclusively on your local device
using the Chrome browser's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This
data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Locally stored data may include:

• Refresh interval settings and preferences
• Auto-Start URL patterns you have configured
• Predefined page URLs you have saved
• Page monitor keywords and expression settings
• Alert and notification preferences
• Email address (if you choose to enable email alerts)
• Active tab refresh state (to survive browser restarts)
• Extension UI preferences (theme, language selection)

This data is under your full control. You can clear it at any time by:
- Using the "Reset to Defaults" button in the Settings page, OR
- Uninstalling the extension (all local data is deleted automatically), OR
- Clearing Chrome extension data via chrome://settings/siteData

1. EMAIL ALERTS (OPTIONAL FEATURE)
   ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Extension includes an optional Email Alert feature. This feature is:

• Disabled by default
• Only activated if you explicitly enable it in Settings
• Requires you to provide an email address and complete verification

If you choose to enable email alerts:
• Your email address is stored locally on your device only
• Email delivery may require communication with a notification relay service
• No email content, keywords, or URLs are included in any transmitted data
beyond what is strictly necessary to deliver the alert notification
• You can disable email alerts and remove your email at any time from Settings

1. PERMISSIONS USED AND WHY
   ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions. Each is used solely
for the stated purpose and not for any data collection:

tabs
→ Required to detect which tab is active, read tab URLs/titles for
display in the Active Tabs list, and switch focus to monitored tabs.

storage
→ Required to save and load your settings and refresh state locally
on your device using chrome.storage.local.

alarms
→ Required to schedule page refresh timers reliably, even when the
service worker is inactive (Chrome MV3 requirement).

notifications
→ Required to display browser push notifications when a monitored
keyword is found or lost on a page.

scripting
→ Required to inject the timer overlay and page monitor script into
web pages and to perform soft page reloads.

contextMenus
→ Required to add the right-click "Monitor with Auto Refresh Plus"
option when you select text on a webpage.

webNavigation
→ Required to detect when the browser navigates to a URL that matches
your Auto-Start URL patterns, so refresh can begin automatically.

activeTab
→ Required to interact with the currently active browser tab when
triggered by a user action (e.g., clicking the extension icon).

host_permissions: <all_urls>
→ Required so the extension can inject the timer/monitor content
script into any web page you choose to monitor, including HTTP,
HTTPS, file://, and localhost URLs. No data from these pages is
sent anywhere.

1. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
   ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The Extension does not integrate with, sell data to, or share any information
with any third-party advertising, analytics, or data broker services.

The Extension does not use:
• Google Analytics
• Facebook Pixel
• Any crash reporting services (e.g., Sentry, Bugsnag)
• Any remote configuration or feature flag services
• Any CDN-hosted scripts loaded at runtime

All extension code is bundled locally and runs entirely within your browser.

1. DATA SECURITY

Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to
external servers, the security of your configuration data is tied to the
security of your Chrome profile and operating system. We recommend:

• Keeping your browser and operating system up to date
• Using Chrome's built-in sync encryption if you sync settings across devices
• Not sharing your Chrome profile with untrusted users

1. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

This Extension does not target or knowingly collect any information from
children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this
extension without parental consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be
reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where
significant, will be noted in the extension update release notes on the
Chrome Web Store.

Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes your acceptance
of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

stored data is fully within your control.

• Open the extension Settings page and use "Reset to Defaults"
• Uninstall the extension via chrome://extensions to purge all local data
