I've been using this extension for a couple of months now, and it works perfectly. It apparently uses the conversion provided by OpenAI, so it should be really precise. Would love to have a toggle to see characters instead of words though.

Thanks for the comment! I've updated the token counter and added a character count feature. You can now toggle it in the popup and switch between word and character counts. You can update the extension to access the new feature.
