Privacy policy — Clipwave Video & Image Prompts

In one line

The extension reads the page you explicitly point it at and keeps the brief on your computer. It loads a preview image from the image URL provided by that page and sends the approved prompt and generation settings to ClipWave only when you press Generate on ClipWave.

What the extension reads

When you click the toolbar button or pick a ClipWave item from the right-click menu, the extension reads the page that is open in that tab and looks for:

• the page title, heading and description (JSON-LD, microdata, Open Graph and Twitter meta tags, <h1>, <title>, <meta name="description">);
• a product price, if the page publishes one;
• the address of the main product or article image;
• the text you had selected, when you used the right-click menu;
• the page address (URL) and its hostname.

It reads the page only in that moment, only in that tab, and only because you asked. There is no background monitoring, no history scanning, and no code running on pages you have not pointed it at. The extension declares no host permissions at all: it uses Firefox's activeTab grant, which Firefox hands out per click and revokes on its own.

What is stored, and where

Everything the extension stores lives in Firefox's local extension storage, on your computer:

• Saved briefs (up to twelve): the subject, brand, key points, price, format, length, creative angle, prompt text, the full source page URL and hostname, and the preview image URL. You can restore, delete individually, or clear them all from the "Saved" panel.
• A pending brief created by a right-click, held in session storage until the popup picks it up. It disappears when Firefox closes.

Nothing is uploaded, backed up, or synced to another device. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.

What leaves your computer

Two things, both of them visible to you:

1. When you press "Generate on ClipWave", the extension opens a new tab at https://clipwave.io/dashboard/media-forge with the prompt you approved — plus the media type, aspect ratio, video length or image resolution, a short output title derived from the brand or subject, and extension attribution tags — carried in the address. The prompt is the text shown in the Prompt box when you press the button. The source page URL and preview image URL are not added to this link. From there, clipwave.io's own privacy policy and terms apply.
2. The thumbnail in the popup is loaded from the HTTP(S) image URL supplied by the page. That host may be the website itself, a content delivery network, or another third party; the image does not have to have been loaded on the page already. This ordinary image request exposes your IP address and normal browser request information to the image host. Restoring a saved brief can load its preview image again.

"Copy prompt" writes the prompt to your clipboard and saves the brief locally. It sends nothing.

What the extension never does

• No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers.
• No selling of data or sharing beyond the requests described above.
• No access to browser passwords, payment accounts or messages outside the page you explicitly ask the extension to read. Include only page or selected text you intend to use in your brief.
• No remote code: every line the extension runs ships inside the package.
