Added Linux x64 native-bridge support through npm, including Firefox/Zen native-host registration, ChatGPT host discovery, version matching, and setup/recovery guidance. Failed installs now restore the prior Firefox registration and bridge binary, while the optional Zen manifest no longer blocks installation. This version also includes strict-CSP Browser Use support, improved DOM snapshots and typing, structured Firefox errors, and password-value redaction.

Completed strict-CSP Browser Use support for Playwright DOM snapshots, DOM-CUA inspection and node targeting, and virtual-clipboard typing. Fixed mouse-move button state, character key insertion, DOM-snapshot duplication and recursion, and structured Firefox script errors. Password input values are now redacted from DOM snapshots.

Added an in-sidebar Firefox companion setup screen when the local Codex connection is unavailable. The new guidance explains the required OpenAI Chrome integration, provides matching macOS, Windows, and npm installers plus a doctor command, and refreshes the standalone recovery screen to match the Codex interface.

Fixed Firefox and Zen Browser computer-use actions on strict-CSP sites such as ChatGPT and Expedia. Added bridge/extension version mismatch detection with clear update guidance. Improved one-time setup and troubleshooting instructions.

Fixed Windows bridge cleanup when Firefox or Zen Browser leaves the companion running. Added retries for transient network and GitHub asset-download failures. Restored Firefox and Zen Browser open-tab @ mentions. Refreshed Firefox and Zen Browser naming and icons.

Firefox/Zen integration fixes:

• Adds an explicit all-sites permission recovery flow with clearer guidance when access is missing or revoked.
• Improves screenshot capture compatibility on Firefox and Zen.
• Reports the Codex Firefox Bridge identity and version to browser-control clients so Firefox/Zen is no longer misidentified as Chrome.

Version 1.4.4 resyncs the Firefox/Zen port with the complete inherited OpenAI extension distribution from packaged version 1.2.27236.6274. It keeps the newer ChatGPT website integration alongside the Firefox CDP compatibility layer, preserves the upstream Ask ChatGPT context-menu item, and includes the upstream auth-state fix that prevents a null auth notification from blanking the sidebar. This build was regression-tested for open-tab mentions, highlighted-text handoff, Ask ChatGPT context menus, timestamped YouTube captions, browser-history search, and browser/desktop thread handoff.

Fixed first-run setup so the companion installation page opens automatically when the native bridge is missing or disconnects before startup. Added regression coverage and refreshed the versioned Windows, macOS, npm, and source artifacts.

Version 1.4.0 adds a portable cross-platform companion for Firefox and Zen Browser, including a per-user Windows installer and a universal macOS package. It also adds a terminal-friendly npm installation option, automatic discovery of the official local OpenAI host, companion diagnostics, and a clearer one-time setup screen explaining why the bridge is currently required. Release artifacts are version-matched and published with SHA-256 checksums.

Fixes dropdowns and settings menus closing immediately while the composer text box is active in Firefox and Zen. Adds refreshed Firefox/Zen-focused branding and a new original extension icon.
