    #### 1. Fixes
    • Global Theme Persistence from Toolbar Popup & Workbench:
      • Fixed theme toggle inside the toolbar popup and in-page workbench resetting upon popup closure. Theme changes now immediately save via saveSettingsToStorage and synchronize across all tabs, windows, and extension
        contexts.
    • Provider & Target Language Persistence:
      • Fixed dictionary provider (dictionaryProvider) and translation target language (translateTargetLanguage) selections in the workbench being lost when closing the popup. Both preferences now persist globally.
    • Popup Flash/Reset Elimination:
      • Initialized settingsRef synchronously from extension storage cache (getInitialSettings()) so popups and options pages render immediately in the active theme without flickering or reverting to default dark theme
        before asynchronous storage loads.
    • Content Script Overlay Sizing Persistence:
      • Fixed in-page overlay resizing in bootstrap.ts bypassing settings normalization/fallback by routing resize dimensions through saveSettingsPartial({ popupWidth, popupHeight }).

    #### 2. Features & Improvements
    • Default Start Tab (defaultTab) Support & Option Expansion:
      • Scoped session tab state (ACTIVE_TAB) to extension page sessionStorage, allowing the configured defaultTab ("Which tab opens first when popup appears") to work reliably on every new popup session without being
        permanently overridden by old local storage keys.
      • Added the Rewriter tab option to the "Default Start Tab" radio choices in Settings > General (TabGeneral.tsx).

    • Webpage Storage Isolation:
      • Added canUseLocalStorage() checks in composable.storage.ts ensuring content scripts injected into third-party web pages never touch or pollute host page localStorage or sessionStorage.
    • Settings Normalization & Sanitization:
      • Added schema validation and fallback defaults in normalizeSettings for theme, defaultTab, translateProvider, translateTargetLanguage, and customLanguages.
      • Normalized theme and textSize in content script boot-settings.ts.
    • Cross-Context Cache Synchronization:
      • Connected chrome.storage.onChanged to keep extension localStorage aligned with storage changes across all active pages and extension instances.
