Driftly is an anonymous drift bottle Chrome extension. It lets people send and receive text-only anonymous messages without creating an account.
Data We Do Not Collect
Driftly does not collect phone numbers, email addresses, names, avatars, contacts, browsing history, page content, precise location, device serial numbers, MAC addresses, or hardware fingerprints.
Data Stored Locally
The extension stores only the data needed to keep the anonymous experience working on the current browser profile:
Anonymous ID
Anonymous secret used to prove this browser still holds that ID
Language preference
Basic extension settings
Full conversation history is not stored locally.
Data Stored Remotely
Driftly stores product data in a remote backend database so the service can deliver messages between anonymous users:
Anonymous user records
Bottle records
Text messages inside bottles
Bottle events such as created, picked, replied, reported, expired, or closed
Daily throw and pick counters
Reports submitted by users
This data is used only to provide the extension's core functionality, enforce limits, handle abuse reports, and keep the product safe.
Anonymous Identity
Driftly does not require login. Your anonymous identity is generated locally and is tied to the current browser profile. If you clear extension data, uninstall the extension, or move to another device, your anonymous identity and associated bottles may not be recoverable.
Content Safety
Driftly uses basic content checks, daily limits, and reporting tools to reduce abuse. Reported bottles may become unavailable to regular users.
Data Sharing
Driftly does not sell personal data. Driftly does not share your data with advertisers. Product data is processed only by the backend services needed to provide the extension.
Permissions
The Chrome extension requests:
storage: to store the anonymous ID, anonymous secret, language preference, and necessary settings.
alarms: to periodically check whether any bottles have drifted back and update the extension badge.
The extension does not request access to browser tabs, browsing history, web page content, cookies, or notifications.
