Eclipsis for Firefox: privacy policy

The extension does not collect, transmit or sell your data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry and no tracking of any kind.

What stays on your machine

Your settings, your per-platform choices and your own counters (posts blocked, engaged time, streak) are held in the browser's local extension storage. They are never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the extension removes them.

Why it needs access to websites

Eclipsis modifies pages on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Reddit, Facebook, Threads and LinkedIn in order to hide short-form feeds, recommendation rails and autoplay, and to pace the feed. That work happens in your browser as the page renders. Page content is never copied off your device.

The optional AI Detector is the reason the extension can request access to all sites. When you turn it on, it reads the text of pages you visit to judge whether the writing looks machine-generated. It is off by default, the analysis runs entirely on your own machine, and nothing about the pages you read is transmitted.

The one thing that can be sent

If you choose to fill in and submit the Report a bug form, the extension sends:

• what you wrote and the priority you picked
• your email address, only if you enter one
• if you tick the diagnostics box: the extension version, your browser's user agent string, your browser language, whether protection is currently on, and whether setup was completed

Firefox asks for your permission before any of that is sent, and declining keeps your draft and sends nothing. Reports go to info@eclipsis.io and are used only to answer you and fix the problem.

Not shared, not sold

We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone, and no advertising or analytics service receives anything from this extension.
