Go back to the beginning of a YouTube conversation.

First Comments adds “Oldest first” to YouTube’s comment sort menu. Find the earliest available top-level comments and view them directly in the familiar YouTube interface.

• Start with the first 10 comments, or choose Show first 100.
• Native comment cards with avatars and expandable replies.
• Switch back to Top or Newest whenever you want.
• Stop a search, reuse results in the current tab, or save them as JSON.
• Follows YouTube’s light and dark themes.

No API key or separate extension account is required. Search starts only when you choose Oldest first or explicitly request more results or a refresh. It contacts YouTube directly without account cookies. Native comment cards then load through the current YouTube page using its normal session, including cookies when signed in. YouTube handles avatars, replies and interaction controls. Nothing is liked or posted automatically.

There is no developer-operated server, analytics, advertising or persistent extension cache. Search results remain in the current tab unless you export them. YouTube receives the requests and ordinary network information such as your IP address. Full details are in the privacy policy.

Works on desktop www.youtube.com regular video pages. Shorts are not supported. Search results include available top-level comments; replies can be expanded separately. Deleted, hidden, restricted or session-unavailable comments cannot be recovered. Age-restricted and otherwise unavailable videos may not work.

Search and native rendering use experimental internal YouTube formats. Site changes, pinned comments and rate limits can prevent completion. Finding 100 comments can take longer than finding 10. No fixed speed or complete historical archive is promised. Native replies were tested without signing in; signed-in liking and posting are not yet verified.
