FlashDroplet lets you capture individual frames from any video playing in your browser — with a single click, frame-by-frame precision, or fully automatic flash detection.
Single capture: Click the extension icon while a video is playing to instantly save the current frame as a PNG file.
Frame-by-frame scrubber: Open an on-page toolbar that lets you step through a video one frame at a time. Use the arrow keys to step forward or backward, Space to play/pause, and S to save the current frame — without ever leaving the page.
Auto flash scan: Automatically scan through an entire video to detect and save frames where sudden brightness changes occur. Useful for finding flash frames, scene cuts, or highlight moments. Sensitivity is fully adjustable.
Custom save location: Set a subfolder name inside your Downloads folder to keep captures organized by project or session. All preferences are saved and persist between sessions.
No data is collected, no accounts required, and nothing is sent anywhere — all processing happens locally in your browser.
