This update focuses on improving stability, resolving critical bugs with wallpaper caching and search engines, and introducing smarter location configuration for the weather module.

New Features & Customization

Advanced Weather Location Search: Added a brand-new feature that introduces advanced city search capabilities for the weather module. This makes configuring and finding the correct local weather data much more precise and user-friendly. #128

Codebase Optimization: Conducted general code cleanup and internal refactoring across various modules to keep the extension lightweight, maintainable, and performing optimally.

Bug Fixes & Security

Wallpaper Cache Recovery: Resolved an issue where wallpapers fetched via API would disappear after the cache expired. The extension now automatically triggers a new API request to fetch a fresh wallpaper whenever the cache expires, ensuring a seamless visual experience. #129
System Default Search Engine Fix: Fixed a bug where the "System default" search engine option failed to properly call the Chrome API. This feature now works normally and integrates flawlessly with browser defaults. #130
Security Patch (XSS): Resolved a low-risk Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability found within the favicon customization module, further strengthening user security. #122

Bug Fixes & Improvements
Folder Drag and Drop: Restored the functionality that allows users to drag and drop shortcuts directly into folders.
Folder Navigation & Capacity: Relocated the "Back" button inside folders to be displayed below the grid. This prevents the button from occupying a shortcut slot, expanding the maximum folder capacity from 39 to a full 40 shortcuts.
Shortcuts Menu Redesign: Fixed and redesigned the shortcuts menu. Menus now appear cleanly outside the shortcut's click area, adopting a standard design pattern familiar to modern browsers. fix #116
French Localization: Fixed an issue where selecting the French language setting incorrectly displayed Italian translations. fix #117
Tab Title Localization: Resolved a bug that caused the default tab name to always display in English, ensuring it now respects the user's active language setting. (#118) by @MohammadYusif in #119
Translation Management Framework: Reorganized the translation files, migrating the project from Crowdin to Node Translate. Translation contributions (via Pull Requests) and corrections (via issues) are highly encouraged and welcome.
Search Engine Icon: Adjusted the "system default" search engine icon by removing the glow effect, maintaining a cleaner and more neutral appearance.
Minor Fixes: Addressed various other minor errors and under-the-hood stability issues.

Redesigned inputs and selects based on the Fluent UI system
Sub-feature toggles replaced from switches to checkboxes, making it easier to distinguish sub-features from main features

Performance
Improved NASA APOD image loading
Added a fallback and warning for NASA APOD: if NASA posts a video instead of an image, the extension will keep the current image until the following day
Reduced the APOD image cache duration from 24 hours to 10 hours

Security
Removed the tabs permission** from the manifest — this permission was added by a documentation error and was not needed. Stores had flagged that the extension could access browsing history; however, no personal data was ever accessed. The permission has now been removed.
