New: a tip each time you open Highlite
When you open Highlite, a short tip now appears above the toolbar. There's a different one each time, so you pick up features you might have missed:
- Press ? to see every keyboard shortcut
- Export your annotated page as an image
- Undo with Ctrl+Z / ⌘Z
- Hold Shift to draw perfect squares and circles
- Your annotations save automatically

Tips stay out of the way. They never cover contextual hints, and you can dismiss them with one click. They're available in all 18 supported languages.

New
- No more Select tool. When no tool is active, clicking an annotation selects it so you can move, edit or delete it. Press Esc or V to clear the selection.
- Just start typing. With a sticky note or text box selected, typing edits its text.
- Undo "Reset all" in one step. A single Ctrl+Z brings the whole page back, and a message confirms the reset.
- Dedicated Minimize button at the end of the toolbar.
- Shorter guided tour: 4 steps, each showing one gesture.

Fixes
- Shapes, arrows and strokes stay selectable after undo, redo or a page reload.
- Undoing a text edit now updates the sticky note or text box.
- Your chosen color no longer changes when you switch tools.
- Sticky note text is centered vertically while editing.
- XL sticky notes are now clearly larger than L.
- The laser pointer always draws in red.
- Clicking the extension's own UI no longer clears your selection.
- Tooltips no longer appear over open menus, and only one shows at a time.
- If an import file is invalid, the error now says which file to pick.
- Sign-in failures now show a clear message.

Accessibility
- Better contrast (AA level), keyboard navigation and visible focus.
- The paywall and shortcuts overlay now work as real dialogs: they keep focus and close with Esc.
- Bigger click targets and clearer labels.

Displays a badge on the icon when the page you're viewing contains annotations.

Multiple improvements

Sharper toolbar icons: the annotation toolbar is now pixel-aligned, so every tool icon renders crisply instead of slightly blurred.

Better localized store listing: the extension name and description have been rewritten in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (BR/PT) and Russian so they read naturally and lead with what the tool actually does.

Improvements
• The toolbar now remembers whether you left it minimized, instead of
reopening on every page.
• Typing in Highlite's own text fields no longer triggers the tool
keyboard shortcuts.
• Highlite can now ask you for a review on Firefox — it points at this
add-on's own page, and it only ever asks once.

Also in this release
• Updated dependencies and internal maintenance.

• Import and export your annotations as a JSON file. Open the Export panel,
then the Annotations section.

• Sticky notes: dismissing the editing box with Escape, Enter or a click
away could immediately reopen it.

• Contextual color and size panel that appears next to the selected element — and can be dragged where you want it.
• Decluttered toolbar.

Export
• Export panel: capture the full viewport or drag to select a region.
• Send the screenshot to download or straight to your clipboard.
• Import / export your annotations as a JSON file.

Text & editing
• Enter validates a text edit, Shift+Enter inserts a new line.
• Contextual hints adapt to the selected element.

Languages
Now available in 18 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese (BR & PT), Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Indonesian, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese.
