关于此扩展
Select an English word on any page and read its Hindi meaning, pronunciation and
part of speech — without leaving the page and without a network connection.
It also works inside embedded frames — video players, comment threads and search
widgets.
| Key | Action |
|:---|:---|
| <kbd>A</kbd> | Play the pronunciation |
| <kbd>C</kbd> | Copy the word and its answer |
| <kbd>Shift</kbd> | Pin the popup, or release it |
| <kbd>Esc</kbd> | Close it |
Clicking anywhere on the page also closes it, and selecting another word replaces
it. The letter shortcuts are ignored while you are typing in a text field, and
while <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>, <kbd>Alt</kbd> or <kbd>Meta</kbd> is held.
A selection-triggered dictionary is only pleasant if it does not interrupt the
act of selecting text, so anything that is not plausibly a lookup is declined
before any data is read: a paragraph, a <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>A</kbd> over a page, a
URL, an email address, a date, a number, or non-Latin text. A password field is
never read at all. Both length limits are adjustable in the options.

- Select a word and let go. The meaning appears as soon as you release the
mouse over a selection. - Right-click, or press <kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd>+<kbd>L</kbd>, to look
up the current selection explicitly. This is how it works on a touch screen, or
where the page scrolls under a still pointer. - Prefer hovering? Enable Look up on hover in the options, optionally only
while holding <kbd>Shift</kbd>, <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> or <kbd>Alt</kbd>.

- Firefox 142 or later.
- Pronunciation needs a Hindi voice installed on your system. Without one,
the extension says so in the browser console and reads the transliteration
instead, which is only a rough approximation. See the README for how to install
a Hindi voice on Windows, Linux or macOS. - Coverage is strongest for common English vocabulary and for government,
scientific and educational terminology. Rare or specialist words may have no
entry.
