    • New tab opens noticeably faster: the page no longer loads twice when
      keyboard focus is pulled into the search box, the theme background paints
      instantly (no dark flash), and styles are bundled into the page.
    • Site icons: sites without a favicon now show a clean letter tile instead
      of a grey placeholder, icons no longer flicker while loading or when
      moving between folders, and cached icons render in the first frame.
    • Editing everywhere: shortcuts and folders can now be edited straight from
      the search results and the spotlight home chips — same hover button as in
      the grid, and it works in zen mode again.
    • Post-install welcome page can enable local icon caching with one click
      (optional, grants access to the icon service only).
    • Fixed the top-right menu buttons shifting right after the page loaded.
    • Quieter under the hood: leaving the tab while it is still loading no
      longer logs "Failed to fetch" errors.
