HOW TO TEST
Pointie matches the URL bar's hostname (without "www.") against an internal store list, so the popup appears automatically on these recommended retailers:
• https://amazon.ca (Aeroplan, Air Miles, Rakuten)
• https://bestbuy.ca (GCR, Aeroplan, Air Miles, Rakuten)
• https://walmart.ca (GCR, Aeroplan, Air Miles, Rakuten)
• https://staples.ca (GCR, Air Miles, Rakuten)
• https://www.apple.com (Aeroplan, Air Miles, Rakuten)
Then:
1. Click "Collect" → redirected to that provider's affiliate page.
2. "Offer History" → 60-day chart of historical earn rates per provider.
3. 🌐 → 10-language picker.
4. "Snooze for 2 hours" → suppresses popup on the current tab for 2h.
PERMISSIONS
• declarativeNetRequest — rewrites request paths for Snooze. No traffic read or modified.
• storage — stores selected UI language + local cache of public offer JSON.
DATA / PRIVACY
No accounts. No PII ever collected or transmitted. Anonymous Firebase Measurement Protocol analytics with a random per-install client_id (cryptographic GUID, not tied to user identity). Three events:
• STORE — popup activation. Payload: { client_id, domain }.
• ACTIVATED — Collect button click. Payload: { client_id, provider }. No domain.
• SNOOZE — snooze action. Payload: { client_id, domain }.
Manifest declares this via browser_specific_settings.gecko.data_collection_permissions:
• required: ["browsingActivity"] — domain (visible in install prompt)
• optional: ["technicalAndInteraction"] — click/usage (user opt-in)

BUILD INSTRUCTIONS
Source archive submitted alongside. To rebuild:
1. unzip firefox-source-1.0.0.zip
2. cd pointie-source-build && npm ci
3. node scripts/release.js --build-only --platform=firefox
4. Output: releases/firefox/pointie-firefox-1.0.0.zip
Requires Node 20+, npm 10+. All deps public on npm.
PARITY
Same codebase ships on Chrome (id: mlabiphbgnehhigedcdklojghfpjhomi), Edge, Opera. Firefox build adds webextension-polyfill and uses background.scripts (not service_worker) per Firefox MV3.
