LLM Friendly is a browser extension that converts documents, spreadsheets, presentations, web pages, images, and ZIP archives into Markdown or plain text directly within AI chat websites. Large Language Models (LLMs) typically process Markdown and text more efficiently than complex document formats, which often contain additional formatting, metadata, and structural overhead that can increase token usage. By converting content into Markdown before submission, LLM Friendly helps reduce unnecessary token consumption and enables AI models to focus on the actual information rather than document formatting. Whether analyzing research papers, technical reports, presentations, scanned documents, or compressed collections of files, LLM Friendly streamlines the process by transforming content into a format optimized for AI assistants.

The extension supports one-click document conversion, optional automatic conversion through upload interception when supported files are uploaded or pasted into AI chat websites, OCR-powered text extraction from standalone images and images embedded within supported document formats, configurable OCR language selection for improved recognition accuracy, direct insertion of generated Markdown into chat inputs, clipboard copying, Markdown downloads, and locally stored conversion history. ZIP archives are automatically extracted, allowing supported files within the archive to be identified and converted individually or combined into a single insertion. Users can also choose between Light and Dark themes from the extension settings and enable the extension on custom websites beyond the built-in supported platforms. Designed with privacy as a core principle, all processing, including OCR and ZIP extraction, takes place entirely on your local device, ensuring that files and document contents are never uploaded to external servers.
