MeshVault Connect improves 3D model downloads and links your browser to MeshVault, helping you build an organized visual library of downloaded models.

With MeshVault running, the extension detects supported model downloads and captures available information from the model page, including the title, author, description, source links, tags, thumbnail, and gallery images. You can select a library folder before the file is imported.

MeshVault Connect is designed for makers, designers, collectors, and 3D printing users who want to spend less time manually moving, renaming, and organizing downloaded files.

Browser-only tools — MeshVault not required:

An optional setting enables selected download tools when MeshVault is not running:

• Download individually listed Printables model files together as one ZIP archive
• Download all model files or only the files in a selected Printables folder

Browser-only tools are disabled by default and must be enabled from the extension options. Files are saved through your browser and are not imported into a MeshVault library.

MeshVault library features:

• Import supported downloads into the MeshVault desktop app or MeshVault Server
• Preserve available model metadata, images, and source links
• Choose a library folder before importing, save to a default folder, or mark models for review
• Queue supporting files, such as documentation, and include them in the model archive
• Create an archive when a site only provides model files individually
• Route model packs from Google Drive and Dropbox directly to MeshVault
• Queue Google Drive archives when more than three downloads are sent at once
• Display combined download and import progress, including transfer speed
• Continue showing download status after the original browser tab is closed
• Hide selected MeshVault folders or only their subfolders from the save prompt
• Enable or pause capture globally or for individual supported sites
• Hide AI-generated content on supported pages*
• Reduce certain unwanted page elements on supported sites

MeshVault is required for library importing, metadata storage, folder selection, attachment queueing, and Google Drive or Dropbox routing.

How MeshVault importing works:

• Install the MeshVault desktop app or configure MeshVault Server
• Install MeshVault Connect in Chrome
• Open MeshVault or connect the extension to your server
• Browse to a supported model page
• Download a supported model file
• Choose a MeshVault library folder when prompted
• The file and available model information are imported into your library

Supports over 35 file types, including:

Mesh formats: STL, 3MF
CAD/project formats: STEP, F3D
Printer/CNC output: GCODE, NC
Archives: ZIP. MeshVault scans archives for supported model files

Local connection:

MeshVault Connect communicates with MeshVault running locally on your computer or with a configured MeshVault Server on your local network. Captured files and metadata are sent directly from the browser to your selected MeshVault library.

Privacy:

Model files are sent only to the local MeshVault app, your configured MeshVault Server, or your browser’s download manager when using browser-only tools. The extension does not collect user data.

Notes:

• MeshVault requires a licence-key unlock or Microsoft Store in-app purchase for applicable library features.
• Site layouts and download systems can change, so metadata availability may vary between sites and model pages.
• Private or account-only models may provide less metadata than public model pages.
• Personal or purchased Cults3D and Cgtrader downloads should be started from their model page so the correct metadata can be associated with the file.
• If MeshVault is unavailable, ordinary downloads continue through the browser. The optional browser-only tools apply only to their supported download actions.
• *AI-generated model hiding is not available on every supported site.
