Version 1.9.1
This update covers everything since 1.9.0, the version most people are running.
• Fixed: the first window when you start your browser now shows your shortcuts.
Previously only new tabs did, while the startup window and every new window
opened the browser's home page instead. New Tab Pro now replaces both the
New Tab page and the home page.
• Fixed: the page margin no longer grows with the window. Shortcuts start at
the same fixed margin whether the window is maximised or narrow, so a
shortcut stays where you expect it after resizing.
• Fixed: the Website link on the options page opens correctly again.
• New: reorder shortcuts from the keyboard with Alt + Left/Right arrow.
Screen readers announce the new position.
• Changed: website icons are now optional. Installing New Tab Pro requests no
data collection at all. The first time you switch on "Show website icons",
Firefox asks for your permission, and you can withdraw it at any time in
about:addons.
• Changed: icon lookup tries 13 well-known addresses instead of 26, so fewer
requests are sent to the sites in your list.
• Changed: a custom icon must now be an HTTPS address. Plain http:// images
were already blocked by the browser and only ever showed as broken.
• Your shortcuts, settings and cached icons carry over automatically.
If you used website icons before this update, open the options page and switch
them on once, then accept the permission prompt.
