OrgOrg’s background research is quieter, and this release carries every Gmail and Firefox fix since 2.6.56. Research now reads a LinkedIn page the way a screen reader does instead of taking pictures of it, so it reads more of each profile and no long section is cut off. A company page opens in a hidden tab inside a collapsed tab group named OrgOrg research, so it never puts a page on your screen. A person’s profile needs a real window to load, so it opens behind the Chrome window you are using, covered by that window with a thin strip left showing so the page keeps drawing, and only while Chrome is the app in front. It never appears between two open windows. Everything from 2.6.57 to 2.6.59 ships here: OrgOrg starts correctly in Firefox again; the OrgOrg panel in Gmail follows you to the next conversation after the extension updates with a Gmail tab open; and the Save to CRM button stays hidden in Gmail when you keep OrgOrg out of Gmail.

Fixes OrgOrg in Firefox. From 2.6.17 to 2.6.56, an error when Firefox started OrgOrg stopped most of the extension from loading. The OrgOrg panel in Gmail, the right-click menus, OrgOrg search in the address bar, and screen recording did not start. This release fixes that error. It is for Firefox only: Chrome did not have the error.

Fixes the OrgOrg panel in Gmail and the side panel after a long wait, and changes how background research counts your time. Everything from 2.6.55 ships here; 2.6.54 was the last release. The panel's sign-in to OrgOrg lasted four hours, and a Gmail tab left open for longer came back to an empty panel that only a page reload repaired. The panel now asks the extension for a new sign-in before the old one ends, and again when the server refuses it, so a tab left open all day shows the panel when you return. The Gmail panel also gets a new sign-in when its frame loads again, instead of the one from the first load. Background research follows your computer, not your browser window. It runs while you work anywhere on the machine, and it stops when you lock the screen. Before, only time inside Chrome counted, so a day spent in a terminal or another app left most of the day's research unspent. Each source also runs its own visit: Bookface and LinkedIn no longer wait for each other, so a person with both finishes a normal day's work. A research window the screen cannot draw now pauses research for two minutes, not ten. The pause grows to five and then ten minutes only when this happens again within an hour. A fund's Bookface capture no longer sends the Bookface user id of each person the fund lists. OrgOrg no longer uses that id: Bookface refuses some of those user pages, so a link built from it could open nothing. Each person's LinkedIn URL still matches them to your contacts.

Fixes for Bookface research and the Gmail panel. Everything from 2.6.53 ships here; 2.6.52 was the last release. A contact whose Bookface record was found through their firm no longer takes the profile, email, or phone of the one person that firm lists: that person can be a colleague. A fund's Bookface capture now carries the fund's portfolio, founder rating, meeting conversion, and labels, the same as a person's capture, and OrgOrg shows them as the firm's block on the card of each person at that firm. The OrgOrg panel and the Save to CRM button no longer keep showing the previous person or company when the extension's background restarts at the moment a page reports a new one. The page now reports it again until the background answers, and it never reports again a page you already left.

Fixes for the Gmail panel, background research windows, and the Save to CRM button. Everything from 2.6.51 ships here; 2.6.50 was the last release. The OrgOrg panel in Gmail no longer goes missing when the extension's background worker restarts during a page load. Before, Gmail kept the Workspace add-on icon and showed no panel until you reloaded. The page now asks again until the worker answers, and opening another thread asks again too. Background research no longer leaves LinkedIn windows open: a capture that stalls in a window the screen is not drawing now ends after three minutes and closes its window, research then pauses for ten minutes, and a window the extension could not close is tried again instead of forgotten. The Save to CRM button no longer asks the background several times a second. It learns whether a record is saved when the page reports a new person or company, and whether the side panel is open when the page resizes, and it stays hidden beside an open panel after the background restarts. An investor's portfolio now links each company to the real YC company: the extension sends the YC company id that Bookface lists for each one, so OrgOrg finds the company in the YC directory with no guess from the name. Also carries the Snipit changes made after 2.6.50: the popup shows Snipit as unavailable on browser pages such as the new tab, where a capture cannot run, and a plain click on the area selector no longer closes it (press Esc to exit).

Background research stays out of your way, and LinkedIn's data export becomes an import. Everything from 2.6.43 to 2.6.50 ships here; 2.6.42 was the last release. A research window is only ever closed when the extension can prove it opened that window, so a window you opened yourself is never touched. If you ever catch a research capture it explains itself, with a link to turn background research off, and it sits where it was told to instead of a menu bar higher. Research also finishes what it starts: a run still only begins while you are using Chrome, but switching to another app no longer throws the rest of it away. When LinkedIn mails you that your data archive is ready, the panel becomes the importer: drop the ZIP, or the Connections.csv from inside it, and your connections become contacts without leaving the mail. The same importer opens on LinkedIn's own export page, from an "Upload to OrgOrg CRM" button beside LinkedIn's own download button. The archive never leaves your browser; only Connections.csv is read. When the import finishes the panel links straight to your contacts. One OrgOrg panel, never two. The panel no longer follows you off the page you opened it for, and on Gmail it stays away while Gmail draws its own sidebar. "Save to CRM" now appears only on pages that are about someone, and never beside a panel that is already open.

A background research capture never covers what you are looking at, and never outlives its capture. The window is recorded before it opens, so a worker that dies mid-capture (a sleeping machine, a Chrome update, an extension reload) no longer leaves it behind; leftovers are closed on the next wake. A capture refuses to open at all while you are in a fullscreen view, and it raises your window back over itself only when Chrome already had the focus, so it can no longer pull Chrome over another app. Also carried from the unreleased 2.6.41: the Gmail sidebar is open by default for an org with CRM, and a close or an open from the rail icon is sticky per browser; while closed, the rail icon wears a badge when the thread has more to show than research on an unknown sender, and every badge, open, and close is logged. And from the unreleased 2.6.38 to 2.6.40: the panel starts without waiting for the server, the inbox reserves its column at once, and the rail icon gets one more attempt once the sidebar's slot proves the rail exists.

Sends every thread participant to the panel, automated senders included, so the panel decides who is a person at deploy speed.

Linear notifications become their issues in the Gmail panel, readable through the org's grant and editable through your own. A receipt's vendor resolves from the links in the mail. The panel's link-host list comes from the server, so a new panel program needs no release. A config fetch that fails once and heals is no longer reported; only a failure that persists for ten minutes is.

Capture Element now works over embedded panels such as the OrgOrg panel in Gmail, and says so when a click lands on nothing.

The pinned-views strip in Gmail keeps its height across navigation, so the list no longer jumps under a click.

The Gmail sidebar reserves its column in the same paint as the thread and wears the mail card's colour while it loads. The rail toggle no longer pushes Gmail's icons down.

The app bridge also runs inside the panel frame, so Add in the Gmail panel starts the crawl session at once.

Gmail panel: read, file, and task actions reworked. Research progress shows inside the CRM card. Background research waits until the next day once the daily budget is spent.

Save contacts and companies to your OrgOrg CRM from LinkedIn, Gmail, Bookface,
and BuiltWith — one click from the side panel, with duplicate detection and
record enrichment. CRM features run only for orgs with CRM enabled, and only
capture page details when you click Save.

Also: Snipit keyboard shortcuts now activate only when Snipit and a keyboard
option are on; plus side-panel and reliability fixes.

Fixed new tab experience for unauthenticated users in Firefox.

This update improves reliability and adds opt-in support tooling:

• Fixed organization-defined custom shortlink routing rules, which were being ignored
• Screenshot capture overlay now reliably follows your on/off setting
• New support diagnostics mode: if you ask your organization's administrator for help with link routing, they can enable time-bounded diagnostics for your account; nothing is recorded unless this is enabled for you, and it switches itself off
• Stability fixes: background service worker, right-click menu duplication after updates, new-tab page icon
• More reliable delivery of error reports and diagnostics when the browser suspends the extension's background process

Smarter error reporting: probe server reachability before reporting network errors to Slack. User-network issues (offline, firewall, DNS) are silently skipped; only reports when the server is reachable but the request still failed.

Fix Snipit overlay showing by default for all users. The overlay content script
was defaulting showOverlay to true before the async settings fetch completed,
causing the overlay to appear on Cmd+Shift even for users who never enabled it.
Now defaults to false (matching server-side default) so the overlay only shows
for users who explicitly opt in via snipit/settings.
