On producthunter.shop users can earn rewards by completing some tasks. One example is Amazon Audible subscription. Upon clicking on the task, a new popup window is opened for the user where they can complete the transaction. This extension here reads the URL in the popup window to track when the transaction is completed. Upon transaction completion, it sends a success message to the window opener which is used to confirm task completion and reward the user.
