Qroole QR Code Reader is a browser extension developed by Qroole (qroole.com). This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is used. - Data We Do NOT Collect
The extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, location data, health or financial information, or any usage analytics. - Local Storage Only
The extension stores the following data exclusively on your device using the browser's built-in local storage (browser.storage.local): - Scan history: text content of QR codes you have decoded (up to 500 entries)
- Favorites: scans you have starred for quick access
- Language preference: your selected interface language
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to Qroole or any third party.
- Permissions
- activeTab / tabs: to send scan messages to the active tab
- contextMenus: to add a right-click "Read QR Code" option on images
- storage: to save scan history and language preference locally
- notifications: to show a confirmation after a context-menu scan
- clipboardWrite: to copy decoded text when you click Copy
- content_scripts (<all_urls>): to enable scanning on any page you choose to scan
- Third-Party Libraries
The extension bundles the open-source jsQR library for local QR decoding. jsQR runs entirely on your device. No data is sent to any external service. - Camera Access
The camera feature uses your device camera only while the scanner tab is open and only to scan QR codes in real time. No footage is recorded, stored, or transmitted. - Contact
