Users can set how long history is kept for specific websites or categories, or choose to remove it immediately. Retentia scans history locally and classifies websites into categories such as social media, news, shopping, and adult content. Uncertain matches are not applied automatically, keeping the user in control.
Cookie deletion can optionally be enabled per rule. It is disabled by default and only runs when the matching rule expires or is executed. Protected websites, unrelated cookies, and other site data remain untouched.
Key features:
Rules for individual domains, specific URLs, and website categories.
Set an expiration period or remove matching history immediately.
Optional deletion of cookies associated with an expiring rule.
Cookie cleanup for default category rules, including 18+.
Local category classification with an offline database.
Guided onboarding for scanning, configuring rules, and previewing cleanup.
History scanner, rule simulator, cookie counts, and overview of active rules.
Automatic browser-history cleanup.
Protected websites override history and cookie deletion rules.
Dark mode, password protection, backups, and privacy-safe diagnostics.
No account, cloud processing, tracking, or external data collection.
Firefox v2.4.1 requires Firefox 142 or newer. The Firefox version does not include a shortcut in Firefox’s built-in History page because extensions cannot access that privileged interface; all core features remain available through the popup and Retentia dashboard.
