Ever opened a social media site intending to check it for just 5 minutes, only to lose an hour? RotGuard is here to break that cycle. By adding a simple but effective point of friction, it helps you regain control over your digital habits and boost your daily productivity.
How It Works ?
Instead of blocking websites entirely (which often leads to frustration and instantly disabling the extension), RotGuard introduces intentional waiting times and time-boxed sessions.
Spending 30 continuous minutes on a feed goes by in a flash. But breaking that down into six 5-minute sessions (each requiring you to pause, wait, and read a mindful message before entering) makes you aware of your screen time.
Core Features (v1.0) :
- Intentional Delay (The Friction Point): Forces you to wait before accessing a restricted website, breaking the muscle memory of instant gratification.
- Session-Based Browsing: Access is granted in short, manageable chunks. Once the session expires, the friction resets.
- Fully Customizable: You are in control. Easily add or remove domains from your restricted list, adjust the mandatory waiting time, and set the duration of your browsing sessions.
Privacy First !
RotGuard is built with your privacy in mind. It runs entirely locally in your browser, does not track your browsing history, and collects absolutely zero personal data.
