Ask AI about the page you're viewing—right in the Firefox sidebar.

Sidekick AI keeps up with the page in your active tab. Ask questions like "Summarize this article" or "What does this page say about X?" without copying and pasting text yourself.

Two ways to chat

Web mode
Embed the official web UIs for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot in the sidebar. Sign in with your existing account—no API key required.

• Click Summarize page to copy the current page context to your clipboard
• Paste it into the chat input on the service you choose

API mode (advanced)
Bring your own API key for OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or Groq.
- Requests go directly to the provider over HTTPS
- Enables the AI to search the live web and provide up-to-date responses
- Your key and settings stay on your device
- Page title, URL, and extracted body text are included automatically when you send a message

Sidekick AI uses a [BYOK] model.

Smart page reading

• Prefers main content areas (main, article, and similar regions)
• Filters navigation, ads, cookie banners, and other noise
• Supports open Shadow DOM, same-origin iframes, and slow-loading pages
• Skips browser system pages (about:, moz-extension:, etc.)

Webmail support

• Excels at webmail analysis: understands the current email, analyzes its intent, and helps you draft replies
• Supported services include gmail.com, outlook.com, mail.naver.com, and mail.daum.net

Privacy
API keys and preferences are stored locally in Firefox. In API mode, chat data is sent only to the AI provider you choose—not to the extension developer.
