Slurp Browser Companion Privacy Policy

Slurp Browser Companion is a Firefox extension that connects the current browser page to the Slurp macOS application.

Data the extension may access

When you explicitly use the Slurp Browser Companion, it may access information from the active page that is needed to perform the requested action. This can include:

The current page URL
Page title
Referrer information
Video, audio, or media URLs detected on the page
Limited page and media metadata needed to identify downloadable media
The action you explicitly requested, such as opening the page in Slurp or starting a download

How this data is used

This information is passed locally from Firefox to the Slurp macOS application using Firefox Native Messaging. It is used only to perform the action you requested in Slurp.

Data collection and tracking

Slurp Browser Companion does not send your browsing activity or detected media to Slurp servers for analytics, advertising, profiling, or tracking.

The extension does not collect or maintain a browsing history.

The extension does not request access to Firefox cookies and does not read your browser cookies.

Slurp does not sell personal data.

Local communication

Communication between the Firefox extension and the Slurp macOS application takes place locally on your Mac through the native messaging host com.slurp.browser_companion.

Third parties

The Companion does not send data to third-party analytics or advertising services.

When Slurp processes a media URL, the Slurp application may communicate directly with the website or service hosting that media as necessary to perform the user-requested action.
