The Vault Browser Extension

What this extension does
The Vault browser extension lets you save images, videos, and page content from the web directly into your Vault. It works by sending the content you explicitly choose to save (via the hover button or right-click menu) to The Vault desktop application, which runs locally on your own computer.

What data is collected

Website content: When you choose to save an image, video, or media element, the extension transmits that content to your local Vault desktop app.

Page information: The URL and title of the page you're saving from are included with each save, so your Vault can keep a record of where the item came from.

Login information (optional): If you use the extension's popup to sign in, your email address and password are submitted to authenticate you with your Vault account. This is optional, the core save feature works whether or not you're signed in through the extension popup.

Where this data goes
All data collected by this extension is sent exclusively to The Vault desktop application running on your own device (via a local connection). This extension does not transmit any data to third-party servers, advertisers, or analytics services. Nothing you save is shared with anyone unless you choose to share it from within The Vault app itself.

Data retention
Saved content and account information are stored according to The Vault desktop app's own data handling, which you control. Uninstalling the extension does not delete anything already saved to your Vault.

Your choices
You can disable the hover-to-save feature at any time from the extension's popup. You can also use the extension without signing in through it.
