Tilvar is the browser extension of the science-first translation assistant that lives under Athena (athena.org.tr).

• Translate a page in place: the visible text is translated without breaking the layout; one click restores the original.
• Translate selected text from the right-click menu.
• Read and translate the text in images, or ask what an image shows (right-click menu).
• A small chat box: ask questions or have text translated; when useful it searches the web and shows its sources.
• Keeps terminology consistent and tries to preserve numbers, units and LaTeX. European languages, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and the Turkic languages are supported.

The extension needs an Athena API key (every membership including Free; get it at athena.org.tr/hesap). Use is subject to daily limits.

Privacy: only when you use the extension, the text or image you want translated and your chat messages are sent to tilvar.athena.org.tr; there are no ads and no tracking. Details: athena.org.tr/en/privacy
