Privacy Policy — Twitch Tab Manager

Summary

Twitch Tab Manager runs primarily and locally in your browser. It opens, organizes, rotates, recovers, and closes Twitch tabs based on channel status, and includes optional watch-streak rescue features.

The developer does not operate an analytics, advertising, telemetry, or data-collection server for Twitch Tab Manager. We do not sell personal data, and Twitch Tab Manager does not send your extension configuration, browsing history, Twitch token, follows list, diagnostics, or watch-streak information to developer-controlled servers.

The extension does communicate directly with Twitch over HTTPS when Twitch data or Twitch pages are required for a feature to work.

What the extension does

Twitch Tab Manager may:

Read and save local extension settings, including optional imported files such as config.json and follows.txt.

Use Twitch's Helix API, Twitch web pages, and Twitch live-status probing to determine which configured channels are live, offline, or temporarily unknown.

Temporarily open or reuse the official Twitch Following → Channels page, scroll it, and read followed channel usernames when you use Fetch My Follows.

Open, reuse, navigate, rotate, recover, and close manager-controlled Twitch tabs and a dedicated Twitch Tab Manager playback window.

Query browser tab/window metadata locally so it can identify Twitch tabs, avoid duplicates, manage its own playback window, and reduce interference with the user's currently active browser window.

Inject small local helper scripts into Twitch pages to inspect page/player state and retry playback when needed.

Preserve the browser tab's existing mute/unmute state rather than intentionally changing it during normal tab management, rotation, recovery, or restore operations.

Inspect Twitch's watch-streak UI when Streak Rescue is enabled, identify at-risk streaks, open appropriate Twitch live/VOD pages, monitor local rescue progress, and retry failed playback when necessary.

Store local diagnostics, lifecycle information, rotation state, rescue state, and debug information to help troubleshoot extension behavior.

Show local extension notifications, such as update notices or other extension-status notifications.

Export user-requested local files such as config.json or follows.txt.

Data the extension processes

Local configuration

The extension may store values such as:

Twitch client_id

Twitch access_token

feature toggles and timing settings

followed channels

favorites

priority channels

rotation candidates

low-priority channels

blacklist entries

streak-rescue settings

These values are stored in browser extension storage on your device unless you explicitly export or share them.

Authentication information

When Twitch API authentication is configured, Twitch Tab Manager may send your Twitch Client ID and access token directly to Twitch as part of HTTPS requests required to use Twitch APIs.

The developer does not receive these credentials and Twitch Tab Manager does not send them to developer-controlled servers.

Twitch website content and state

To provide its features, the extension may locally process Twitch-related information such as:

Twitch channel usernames

Twitch URLs

live/offline/unknown state

Twitch page titles and channel identity

player readiness and playback state

raid/redirect state

Following-page channel information

watch-streak indicators shown by Twitch

Twitch live/VOD URLs used for Streak Rescue

local watch/rescue progress

This information is used to operate the extension. It is not uploaded to the developer.

Local runtime and diagnostic state

Twitch Tab Manager may store limited operational data locally, including:

enabled/disabled status

last poll and detection timestamps

live-detection debounce state

managed-tab registry and lifecycle state

rotation slot/cooldown state

recovery attempts and playback health

Streak Rescue queue/history/status

local diagnostic and debug events

extension update-notification state

Diagnostics remain local unless you explicitly copy, export, or share them yourself.

Browser tab/window metadata

The extension may query browser tab and window information so it can locate Twitch tabs, manage its dedicated playback window, prevent duplicates, and avoid modifying unrelated tabs.

Non-Twitch tab/window information is not sent to the developer or used for advertising, profiling, or analytics.

Firefox / Mozilla Add-ons data disclosure

The Firefox build declares the Mozilla data categories authenticationInfo and websiteContent because Twitch Tab Manager can process authentication information and Twitch page/API content while communicating directly with Twitch.

This declaration does not mean that the developer collects that data. It reflects data processed by the extension and transmitted to Twitch where required for extension functionality.

What we do not collect or use

Twitch Tab Manager does not use developer-controlled systems to collect:

your Twitch password

your Twitch Client Secret

your Twitch access token

your browsing history

your follows, favorites, priority, rotation, low-priority, or blacklist lists

watch-streak information

advertising identifiers

analytics or behavioral telemetry

personal profiles for advertising or tracking

We do not sell personal information or use extension data for advertising.

Permissions and why they are requested

tabs

Used to identify Twitch tabs, open and close manager-controlled tabs, navigate and rotate managed Twitch pages, prevent duplicates, inspect local tab state, and manage the dedicated playback window.

storage

Used to save extension settings and limited runtime state locally on your device.

alarms

Used to schedule periodic background polling and maintenance while using Manifest V3 background behavior.

scripting

Used to inject small local helper scripts into Twitch pages for Twitch-specific page/player detection, playback recovery, follows fetching, and Streak Rescue behavior.

downloads

Used only when you choose to export your own Twitch Tab Manager data, such as config.json or follows.txt.

cookies

The Firefox/Chromium manifest currently requests the cookies permission for Twitch-domain session compatibility. Twitch Tab Manager does not use cookies for advertising or tracking and does not upload cookie contents to the developer.

notifications

Used to show local extension notifications, such as extension update notices or other extension-status messages. Notification data is not sent to developer-controlled servers.

Twitch host permissions

The extension requests host access only for Twitch-related domains used by its functionality, including:

twitch.tv

www.twitch.tv

api.twitch.tv

id.twitch.tv

These permissions allow Twitch Tab Manager to interact with Twitch pages and Twitch services needed for live detection, follows fetching, playback management, and other Twitch-specific features.

Cookies and Twitch sessions

Twitch Tab Manager does not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Twitch itself may use its own cookies/session information when your browser accesses Twitch pages or services. Twitch Tab Manager may rely on the browser's existing Twitch session for Twitch functionality where applicable.

The extension does not sell, upload, or share Twitch cookie contents with the developer.

Twitch's own handling of information is governed by Twitch's policies and is separate from the developer's handling of Twitch Tab Manager data.

Local storage and exported files

Extension configuration and runtime state are stored locally using browser extension storage.

If you export config.json, it may contain sensitive settings such as a Twitch access token depending on your configuration. Treat exported configuration files as private and do not publish them publicly without reviewing or redacting them first.

Files such as follows.txt may contain your configured/followed Twitch channel list.

Downloads

The Downloads permission is used only to create user-requested exports from Twitch Tab Manager. The extension does not use it to inspect, modify, monitor, or manage unrelated files you download through the browser.

Security

Twitch network requests use HTTPS.

Extension settings and runtime state remain local unless you explicitly export or share them.

Twitch authentication information is sent only to Twitch where required for Twitch API functionality.

Diagnostics remain local unless you choose to share them.

Do not publish Twitch access tokens, Client Secrets, or unredacted exported configuration files.

If a token is exposed, revoke or rotate it through Twitch.

Data retention and deletion

Twitch Tab Manager stores extension data locally on your device for as long as needed to preserve your settings and extension state.

You can remove locally stored data by:

using Twitch Tab Manager's reset/options tools where available

deleting exported files such as config.json or follows.txt

clearing the extension's data through your browser's extension settings

uninstalling the extension

Browser behavior may determine exactly when extension storage is removed after uninstalling.

Children's privacy

Twitch Tab Manager is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the extension.

Third-party service

Twitch Tab Manager interacts with Twitch because Twitch is the service the extension is designed to manage. Information sent directly to Twitch is subject to Twitch's own privacy practices and terms.

Twitch Tab Manager does not add third-party analytics, advertising networks, or developer-controlled tracking services to those interactions.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Twitch Tab Manager changes or as browser-extension store requirements change. The Last updated date will be revised when material changes are made.

By installing or using Twitch Tab Manager, you agree that:

The extension is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

The developer is not liable for damages, lost watch streaks, missed streams, account issues, browser issues, or other losses arising from use of or inability to use the extension.

Twitch Tab Manager cannot guarantee that Twitch pages, live detection, background playback, rotation, or Streak Rescue will always work because Twitch and browser behavior can change outside the developer's control.

You are responsible for safeguarding Twitch access tokens, Client Secrets, exported configuration files, and other credentials you choose to use with the extension.

If credentials are exposed, you are responsible for revoking or rotating them.

You are responsible for complying with Twitch's terms and your browser's applicable terms while using the extension.

If you do not agree to these terms, uninstall and discontinue use of Twitch Tab Manager.
