关于此扩展
Utility Profit Connect puts your own Utility Profit data next to the tenant it belongs to, on the tenant page you already have open.

WHAT IT DOES
  • On every tenant page, a Utility Profit card shows the tenant's utilities: a coloured dot for the status (set up, in progress, not started), the utility company, the service start date, the account number, and the proof file the tenant uploaded, which opens on a click. Internet has a row of its own. The card sits beside the page's own sections, never inside them, and folds down to one line with the setup summary when you want it out of the way.
  • Where the tenant could not be matched, the card says so in one word (likely match, possible match, or not found) and one sentence on what agreed and what didn't, and it has already looked: it lists the records it thinks could be theirs, for you to confirm without leaving the page. When a record agrees on the email or phone and only the address differs, the card shows it in full, marked "check this match", and nothing is saved until you say it is them. A search box under the list takes an address, an email, a phone number or a name. When you are signed in to the extension with your Utility Profit phone number and password, a record you confirm is shared with your colleagues at the same company. Signed in only through the dashboard, links stay on your computer. Either way, you can undo a link from the same card.
  • Add as note, on the card, writes one line per set-up utility into the page's own note form — the utility company, account number and service start date — and saves it for you, unless you had already started a note of your own, in which case the lines go under yours and the Save is yours. You can turn the saving off in the extension's Advanced settings. A second switch, off to start with, writes the note on every visit instead of waiting for the click.
  • If Utility Profit holds an active renters policy for the tenant, it is offered to the page's insurance coverage card: one click fills the page's own Add Policy form for you to check and save, and you are warned if the tenant has ended up with two policies.

WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO
  • The only Save it ever presses is the one on the note it just wrote, and you can turn that off. It never saves the insurance form for you, and never clicks Cancel or Close.
  • It shows a record on its own only when it belongs to the tenant on screen, or when the email or phone agrees and only the address differs, and then it says so and saves nothing until you confirm. A record at the same address that it cannot confirm is named as a possible match, and nothing is shown until you check it. When it cannot tell, it shows you the candidates and you choose. An email, phone number or name you type into the search is compared on your computer and sent nowhere.
  • If something is wrong, the popup has a Report an issue button: pick what happened, add a line, and it copies a report and opens your mail client. You see the whole report before it goes, and it describes the page rather than its contents — no tenant name, email, phone, address, account number or note text is in it.
  • Optional, and off unless you turn it on: for companies on Utility Profit's move-out tracker, a move-out card on property pages shows each utility's move-out status from the tracker and saves your changes back to it, with the tracker's own permissions: statuses, who handles each utility, the owner's contact details and the owner's reminder emails. It shows a company's move-outs only on that company's own account in your property management software. It uses your own sign-in to the tracker in the same browser. Once it is on, it appears on every property page: signed out of the tracker it offers a sign-in link, and on a page it cannot match it folds to one line that, opened, offers to link the page to one of your tracker properties.
  • It runs on three kinds of page and no others: tenant pages, property pages (where it shows nothing unless you turn the move-out card on), and Utility Profit's own dashboard, where it fills the search box when you arrive from one of its links.

WHAT YOU NEED

A Utility Profit partner account. If you're signed in to the Utility Profit dashboard in the same browser, you're signed in to the extension too; otherwise sign in once in the extension popup with the same phone number and password you use for the dashboard. Then open a tenant page. There is nothing else to configure. Staying signed in to the dashboard in the same browser also lets the card match and search tenants by email and phone at any address; the card tells you when it needs that. The optional move-out card needs only your move-out tracker sign-in, not a partner account. In Firefox, sign in to the tracker in an ordinary window: a sign-in held only in a container tab or a private window does not reach the card.

WHAT IT SENDS

The tenant's name, email, phone and move-in date are read from the page you have open and compared on your computer. They are never sent or stored. The one thing about a tenant that is sent is a fragment of the street address (the house number, a directional where there is one, and the first word of the street name) and a unit key, to Utility Profit's own address search; signed in only through the Utility Profit dashboard, not even that is sent. Where each piece goes is in the privacy policy: https://utilityprofit.com/extension-privacy

So that we can see how it is used and fix what breaks, it can tell Utility Profit what it did as it happens: what its card showed, which of its buttons were pressed and what went wrong, as fixed words and counts, with the time and the extension version. In Firefox these usage records carry no web address, company, tenancy, record number or install id, and never a name, email, phone number, address, account number or anything you typed. They are sent only while you agree to share them: Firefox asks when you add the extension, and you can stop them at any time under the extension's Permissions and data in Firefox's Add-ons Manager, or with the switch in the extension's Advanced settings unless your company's IT has set that switch. Everything else works the same either way.
